Look who's back! Part 2 - Sunday Strut
Last Sunday (19th August 2012) myself and my friend and work colleague Vicky participated in the Sunday Strut, a 6 kilometre charity walk in aid of the Prince's Trust. The first fashion charity walk to take place in London. Myself, Vicky and fellow fashionistas strutted our way across historic London from Cardinal Place to Victoria One New Change.
Prior to the 6 kilometre strut we were greeted at Cardinal Place by the InParlour pop-up travelling beauty parlour, and from nail bars to glitter tattoos and make up and hair sessions, the parlour was the perfect place for all of the participants to add finishing touches to their look before the Gymbox group warm up begun.
Vicky looked super in her primary colours for the Sunday Strut! She even got her nails painted green,red and blue at the InParlour to match her outfit :)
And they're off...in the rain....Although it was slightly spitting at this point, an emergency supply of umbrellas were provided to all from the team. TV Personality Anna Williamson kick started the event, and 'Made in Chelsea''s leading lady Millie Mackintosh lead the strut with her adorable french bulldog puppy Herby (who was just a tad too large to sneak away in my handbag!)
Millie looked very elegant in her nude chiffon dress and matching nude patent wedges, and even managed to bring some metallic sandals with her for when the wedges got too painful, good plan!
All groups were well on their way to One New Change, with the route winding its way past Big Ben, the London Eye, along the embankment and over the Millennium Bridge.
The outfit: I decided to wear a bold colour to stand out on the walk, and went with my Zara dress, which when I walked blew in the wind (not quite Marilyn but it worked out ok!), I teamed it with some metallic Jaeger sandals, and some bold beads that I found on a car boot sale for £1! The Rayban Wayfarers also had to make an appearance again! I also wore my turquoise YSL arty ring which gave a touch of glam to the outfit, and my favourite Mac Satin Red lipstick.
Slightly off topic here, but I spotted these fab catering vans along the embankment, and just had to get snapping, here's a few...
Almost there...at this point all was getting a little hot and bothered :) Our red balloons certainly caught attention, and helped us to navigate our way across busy London.
Yippee! Me and Vicky finally reached the finish line :) And after 6 kilometres of strutting we finally arrived at One New Change, where we were greeted by a goody bag (always love a freebie!) and a celebratory glass of champagne on the rooftop (a stones throw from St Paul's Cathedral) courtesy of Searcys Champagne Bar. Dermalogica's Skin Bar was also on hand for those who needed a quick freshen up.

The fabulous day ended with a raffle, of which I had my eye on only one prize, the David Gandy signed book...unfortunately I didn't win, much to my broken heart :( although I did win the two t-shirts so I cannot complain...much (cries)
I would like to give a round of applause to all of those who took part in the event, as well as the Land Security ladies who helped the day run smoothly.
